It was 1975 when Emilio Ricci, a young chemistry graduate, designed a plant for the production of greases and lubricating oils for third parties.
This is the beginning of the story of Iglom (industry of lubricating greases and mineral oils), a solid and reliable company that – through the policy of doing, and doing well – has developed over the decades an entrepreneurial approach in constant and progressive evolution.
Today Iglom is the leading private company in the market for the production of lubricants for third parties.
A company with an international profile and advanced know-how, which faces all the challenges proposed by the market with the same enthusiasm as forty years ago.
IGLOM SAS (mineral oil lubricating grease industry) was built with the aim of creating a plant for the production of greases and lubricating oils on behalf of third parties in the SIF state (manufacturing tax). The plant, built on an area of 20,000 m², then consisted of a 1,800-m² warehouse, 8 tanks of 50 cubic meters. CD. 3 mixers of 10 mc. and a fat plant with a capacity of 1,000t/year.
The activity of packaging additives begins on behalf of a leading oil company with a production of about 6,000 TONS/year. The company initially had a core of 5 employees.
At the end of the year, following an important order for the export of oil in 1-liter packs in tinplate, a 2,400-m² warehouse was built, with 10 tanks of 100m3. CD. and two packaging lines were installed for 1 and 5-liter packages with capacities of 1,000,000 and 200,000 per month respectively. Iglom starts an expansion process and employees increase to 12.
Iglom sas was transferred to Iglom Italia SpA with its then 18 employees.
With the arrival of the new millennium, the plant consisted of 7,000 m² of warehouses, 14 mixers of which 11 of 30 cubic meters and 60 storage tanks with capacities from 30 cubic meters to 200 cubic meters. The company, at this point, employed 25 employees.
The automation of the mixing plant in via Noce begins. The employee team consists of 35 people.
In May, a disused industrial area of about 70,000 m² with 35,000 m² covered was acquired on which a new plant was built for mixing lubricating oils, the preparation of antifreeze and special products for lubrication, in addition a logistics area for the storage and distribution of products mixed and packaged in the two plants. Currently the storage of the two plants is for petroleum products of 24,000 tons of bulk and packaged products and there is already a ministerial authorization for an increase of 5,000 cubic meters. in tanks. Iglom employed 50 employees this year.
110,000 TONS of products left the Iglom Italia plants.
The new expansion project of the tank farm begins. There are currently 110 employees employed at Iglom.
